I read Ariadne by Jennifer Saint while I was in Greece a couple of weeks ago. It was nice to read something that was set in or near the place I was staying (just a few thousand years later). I liked it because it wasn’t a typical beach read but it was familiar enough that I could get distracted by friends or random people on the beach and not completely lose my thread!
I’ve been reading ‘A Home For All Seasons’ by Gavin Plumley on holiday. I’ve not quite finished it but it’s very good - a meditation on place, history, art, music and literature via the house he and his husband bought in Herefordshire.
This is such a nice message, Alexandra! Thank you so much.
Yes, Brexit has rather buggered things up. I can still post things quite easily to the EU as I pay my VAT for EU orders in Estonia, which avoids customs charges for the customer. So feel free to order anything you fancy if you would like to try that.
Alternatively, I am launching something exciting next week or perhaps the week after which you might like to chip into ;) Not saying any more for now, but keep your eyes peeled!!
Thanks SO much and I hope you are doing very well.
When I vacationed in Seattle, I bought and read The Highest Tide, which is set on Puget Sound and is by local author Jim Lynch.
When I went to Vancouver I bought Murder by Milkshake, an infamous Canadian true crime by Eve Lazarus. Fascinating story!
Murder by Milkshake! What a title…
Ha! And true! A husband poisoned his wife's vanilla milkshakes over a matter of months.
The Nightingale just brilliant set in France during WW2 it was so absorbing I was a bit on edge on our stopover in Frankfurt 🙄
Sounds ideal

Ha, just the thousand year gap! Will definitely check it out, thanks
Devoured How to kill your family by Bella Mackie in Italy 😊

Thanks Chris...adding to the list!
